WE MEET EVERY FRIDAY 6:00 – 7:00PM HOTEL AFRICANA
Rotary Club of Kampala Kibuli is a vibrant, fun loving and community service oriented club. The club boasts of over 40 members with an average age of 35 and above. The club was chartered by the Rotary International (RI) on October 28, 2008.
As July comes to a close, I want to warmly welcome you all to August. The irresistible journey continues, and I am thrilled to reflect on the incredible progress and activities we have accomplished together this July 2024.
We kicked off the month with a momentous installation ceremony in the first week, where we proudly inducted 13 new members into our club.
This significant event was honored by the presence of numerous district leaders, including our current District Governor, Anne Nkutu.
Rotarians, Rotaractors, and guests underscored the importance of this occasion with their attendance and support. In the second week of July, we organized a crucial meet-and-greet session between the outgoing and incoming board members.
During this productive meeting, members received their appointment letters, including proper job descriptions and terms of reference, setting a clear path for their roles and responsibilities.
We had the distinct pleasure of hosting Ms. Nancy Lynda Kalembe, a former presidential aspirant, who enlightened us on how maternal and child health impact growth in our communities. Her visit was enlightening and inspiring, leaving us with valuable insights and renewed motivation. In the fourth week, we enjoyed a fun and engaging fellowship hosted by our vibrant Rotaract Club of Kibuli Government in a Takeover. Their enthusiasm and creativity made it a truly memorable event, strengthening our bonds with the mother club and injecting fresh energy into our club activities.
Our commitment to service and impactful projects has been unwavering. On the 21st of July 2024, we launched the Sickle Cell Awareness campaign at Kibuli Secondary School and planted and named our balance of 84 trees, contributing to health, education, and environmental conservation and sustainability.
Additionally, we were honored to host Assistant Governor Mrs. Susan Wilkinson from D7910 Boston, who presided over our visit to Seeta High School, Mbalala Campus, as a guest of honor.
It was all smiles at Seeta High School after a successful awareness drive on mental health and sickle cell. Our team collaborated with the Red Cross Society, Little Hands Go Green, and the Sickle Cell Rescue Foundation to raise awareness about mental health, first aid, and sickle cell, making a meaningful difference and creating an impact in the community.
As we usher in August, I encourage all members to engage actively in our planned projects and social activities.
Let’s continue to build cohesion through meet-and-greets, plan interesting meetings and fellowships, and enhance our club's experience and vibrancy. Important to note, the Cancer Run is soon approaching. We urge everyone to bring partners on board, sell tickets, and secure a tent for our club and our baby clubs at Kololo Independence Grounds on the 25th of August 2024. Let us also support our partners.
Finally, a call to action for all of us to contribute to the Rotary Foundation as part of the 25 by 25 Campaign and continue planting our balance.
Thank you for your dedication and support. I look forward to seeing you all next Friday, 2nd August.
I wish you all a blessed week ahead
