Rhemie Kiggundu, Hope Creator President, the Rotary Club of Kampala Kibuli.
Rotary embodies the spirit of service above self. My Rotary journey began five years ago, and I've witnessed our club's unwavering commitment to reaching new heights.
This Rotary Year marked a significant milestone as we welcomed an honorary member, Prince Kassim Nakibinge Kakungulu, the head of Islam in Uganda, into the RC Kampala Kibuli family.
Our club firmly believes in nurturing Retractors to become exceptional Rotarians, and we prioritize reaching out to students from local schools.
In fact, we proudly serve as a guiding influence for two Rotaract and Interact clubs at Kololo High and Kibuli Secondary School.
This October, we're excited to launch another Rotaract club of Upper Kibuli, catering to students in higher education institutions, including universities.
We anticipate inducting nearly 50 new Rotaract members, and we have ambitious plans to triple our membership to 120 by 2026.
One of our key objectives is to equip the younger generation, especially the Boy Child, with the skills needed for success in today's business landscape.
The Rotary club of Kampala Kibuli, has adopted the Kibuli village community for a skilling project.
It will take five years to complete. It will impact about 3000 youths with hands-on practical training in the fields such as welding, plumbing, catering, and hairdressing.
As a president dedicated to creating hope, I'm immensely proud of our Buddy Groups within the club. Their interactions and forward-looking vision inspire us all. They are eager to embark on new projects and increase their contributions to the Rotary Foundation.
I'd like to express my heartfelt gratitude to my Rotary family at Kampala Kibuli for their good working relationship and commitment to the club and to our Rotary Fellowship partners, including the District Governor, Assistant Governor, Past District Governors, and guest speakers who continuously inspire us with fresh ideas.
Together, we are committed to Rotary's mission, extending our impact worldwide.
In conclusion, I kindly request our members to continue their diligent commitment by ensuring the timely payment of their annual membership dues.
Your dedication ensures that Rotary's impact knows no bounds. Thank you all for your unwavering support and dedication to service.
Bugingo D. Patrick Immediate Past President Rotary Club of Kampala Kibuli.
ROTARY FOR LIFE.
It is with immense gratitude and fond memories that I pen down my thoughts as your immediate past president for the Rotary year 2022/2023. As I reflect on the journey, I am reminded of the words of my late mother, the late Hajjat Aisha Nakasujja, who introduced me to Rotary back in 2017. She always believed in the power of service above self, and it was under her guidance that I took my first step into this incredible organization. I vividly remember the warm welcome I received when I was invited to join the club. It was a moment of clarity for me, and without hesitation, I knew I wanted to be part of this remarkable family. The camaraderie and dedication of our members were infectious, and I quickly realized that Rotary was where I belonged.
Before serving as your president, I had the privilege of being the Youth Service Director, which provided me with a unique perspective on how Rotaract and Interact thrive through the enthusiasm and passion of our young members. It was a joy to witness their energy and commitment to making the world a better place.
The year 2022/2023 was nothing short ofamazing, filled with lessons andbeautiful memories. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to all the club members for their unwavering support and dedication. Your enthusiasm and willingness to make a difference in our community were truly inspiring. I must also extend my appreciation to our advisors and board members who served alongside me during my year. Your guidance and expertise were instrumental in achieving our goals. A special mention goes to our Club Assistant Governor, Rotarian Reagan Namanya, and District Governor Mike Ssebalu, whose support and encouragement were invaluable throughout the year.
We achieved significant milestones during my tenure as president, which mainly included:
In a delightful twist of fate, I also embarked on a new chapter of my life during my presidency when I got married in the same year. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to each member of the club for the support, warm wishes, and blessings you all bestowed upon me. It meant the world to me and my family.
As we look to the future, the cohesion among members and our commitment to supporting one another will be paramount for ourclub'scontinued success. We must continue ourefforts in recruitment and engagement, ensuring that our club continues to grow and thrive. In conclusion, I would like to wish our current President, Rhemie Kasule Kiggundu, a fruitful and fun-filled year ahead. Dear president, you have my full support, and I am confident that you will lead our club with passion and excellence. To all members, let us rally behind her and make this a memorable Rotary year.
Thank you once again for the privilege of serving as your president during a remarkable year. Rotary Club of Kampala Kibuli, you hold a special place in my heart, and I look forward to many more years of service and fellowship with you all.
